'This ford is a small one and is easy for any 4x4, but due to the entry/exit slopes its probably not suitable for cars. As for the amount water in the ford, I've never seen it more than 4/5'' even after heavy rain (image taken after heavy rain).'

Lunga Estate (x3!)

'Image 1 shows Gemmil Ford, on the Lunga Estate. The estate is only available by foot or on an organised 4x4 day. Access in from an estate track only suitable for well kitted up 4x4's. namely mud tyres and winches. 4x4 events organised by myself. Images 2 and 3 shows the two Barrackan hill fords, also on the Lunga Estate.'

'Hard based (stones and rock) ford across fast flowing River Echaig. Easy entry and exit ramps of gravel and hard packed dirt. This is a fast flowing river which is not suitable for saloon cars or smaller 4x4's (Freelanders, Suzuki's Shogun Pinin etc) unless there has been a long dry period. No problem for Land Rover Defenders, etc and a ford Maverick/ Nissan Terrano crossed no bother the day we went through.'
